Mouth Taping… SHUT IT
When I first saw Lauryn Bosstick posting about her nightly habit of mouth taping before going to bed, I about thought she lost her mind. I was not convinced to say the least. Progressively, she had more guests on her podcast talking about the benefits of it so I thought it was time to try it myself and from that night on I was sold.
For some reason, it didn’t resonate with me that the nasal breathing I practice through meditation, yoga, contrast plunge therapy and even when in situations of stress I go to deep nasal breathing. So I subconsciously already knew it was what all somatic programs thrive off of but didn’t put two and two together to prioritize it for my sleeping.
To say the least, it has changed EVERYTHING for me. I am significantly less anxious, more energized, and overall feel so much better when I mouth tape before bed. Trust me and try it for yourself.
Observations from consistently mouth taping before going to sleep:
Feeling MUCH more rested when I wake up
DEEP sleep, like the best night sleep
Less facial tension, especially in my jaw!
More focused and less stressed the next day
Visibly looking more rested (face is more plump, eyes are brighter)
Decreased anxiety (supported by Springer Link)
Research proven facts from mouth taping:
Improved oral health
Increased attention capacity
Reduces snoring and heavy breathing
