Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing

By: Matthew Perry

I was very excited when this was published a couple of years ago. As someone who grew up watching Friends and is infatuated by memoirs, I knew that Matthew Perry wouldn’t disappoint. Because of the extent of his fame, it was no surprise nearly everyone was aware of his struggles surrounding alcohol and drugs. However, this memoir opens the reader up to the depth of power and strength those who battle with addiction have. This book greatly broadened my perspective and gently opened up conversations to be more empathetic to all types of people who are battling any sort of mental demons.
