How One Therapist and a Circle of Strangers Saved My Life

By: Christie Tate

Chistie Tate’s memoir is succinct recap of the hardships she faced throughout her life. As a young woman making her way in her hometown of Chicago, she vulnerably opens up and shares her experience in group therapy after many years of weighing options of other ways to help herself through tough times. I enjoyed learning first hand what the dynamic of a group therapy setting is like compared to the more common 1:1 talk therapy. It was also a joy to get to know quirky Dr.Rosen who ultimately changed Tate’s life, of course supplemental to the tremendous work Tate did herself.
