The Power of Making Your Bed

A teacher once told me the statistic that people who make their bed every morning are more likely to be successful. Being an achievement-oriented person (or just an aspiring over achiever with obsessive compulsive tendencies) I thought, well I want to be successful so I am going to make my bed every day. I researched more about the psychology of bed making to find that in fact people who follow this routine commonly share other habits. Some of those habits include:

  • exercising more than those who don’t

  • being more likely to cook at home

  • 3x more likely to recycle when given the chance
